The First UK Offshore Contaminated Dredge Material Capping Trial: Lessons Learned This report reviews the investigation of a new approach for the disposal of some heavily contaminated dredged material from the Tyne Estuary where there were no means of alternative treatment. The approach investigated was to use level bottom capping offshore and the report describes the lessons that have been learned in the process. The report highlights a number of generic issues that would apply to any "capping" project. Download the report (PDF 1.2 MB)
