Apply for a marine licence

Online application

Please note: in addition to reducing process time, applications submitted on-line attract a discount on the normal charge (for FEPA licences).

Open online application (opens in new window)

If you are a new user and wish to register for applications, please enter your email and a password, and select Login. You will be then asked to Register these details, and taken to a screen for further security information.

Once registered, users may select the type of licences or consents for which they intend to apply. Partially completed applications may be saved and re-accessed for completion at another time.

Once submitted, an application is retained on the system and may be viewed but cannot be amended. Should a new application be similar to one made previously, users may select an earlier application to duplicate and edit.

From 1 April 2010, the Welsh Assembly Government’s Marine Consents Unit (MCU) are taking over the administration of all new applications for licences under the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 (FEPA) and consents under the Coast Protection Act 1949 (CPA) for activities in Welsh waters. For details of how to apply please contact the MCU.
