MFA Real-time closures #86 to 89: Closures for March 2010
Closures from February (82 to 85) reopened on 1 March.
Two new real-time inshore closure areas (MFA RTC 86 and 89), based on landing per unit effort data, will be closed from 00.01 on Friday 5 March 2010. These areas will reopen at 00.01 on Friday 19 March 2010.
Two new real-time offshore closure areas (MFA RTC 87 and 88), based on landing per unit effort data, will be closed from 00.01 on Friday 5 March 2010. These areas will reopen at 00.01 on Thursday 1 April 2010.

MFA Seasonal closures: Closures for 1 February to 1 May 2010
A number of areas of high spawning sensitivity have been identified with the assistance of scientists and the fishing industry. Five areas have shown high aggregations of cod, together with evidence of high egg production.
The closed area shall be 10-mile radius around the central co-ordinates.
These areas are closed for the entire duration of the spawning closure period from 1 February until 1 May 2010.
Seasonal closures in 2009 (Boulders Bank, The Hills and Cleaver Bank) will remain open.
