Vessel monitoring statistics
The Marine and Fisheries Agency collects the following data on the activity of fishing vessels:
- Since 2000, 2 hourly position reports from UK vessels over 24m in length. Since 2005, 2 hourly position reports from UK vessels over 15m in length.
- Since 1985, surveillance data of fishing vessels in English and Welsh waters from Fishery Protection Aircraft and Fishery Protection Vessels.
Please note that due to the Data Protection Act, all vessel information will be anonymous.
There will be a charge made for extracting this data as follows:
- Satellite data – £100 per hour
- Surveillance data - £35 per hour
